:Biography of Dr. Farzin Rezai
 
In 1970, Dr. Farzin Rezai was born into a religious family in Sanandaj and became familiar with the concept of Islam since childhood. In 1988, he was admitted to the medical faculty of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed his military service, as messenger of health, in Qorveh, Kurdistan, Iran. 
In 1998, he was appointed as the Deputy Director of Prevention of the Welfare Organization of Kurdistan Province and promoted as the Director General of the same Organization in the year 2000.  Concurrently, he pioneered the initial activities of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), specialized in substance abuse prevention.
In 2003, after entry into the Specialist Training Program (STP) in Psychiatry, he resigned from the Welfare Organization to continue his full time education. In 2006, he became the first ranked (highest GPA) graduate in specialist course of psychiatry from Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
In 2008, he was admitted as a faculty member in Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences and promoted as Associate Professor of Psychiatry in 2013. During his career as faculty member, and with the support of other members of the psychiatry department, he initiated the academic admission of student-assistant in psychiatry; moreover, he played a crucial role in setting up of psychotherapy teaching courses.
