1. Managing and monitoring accurate research and technology related responsibilities, libraries, and databases of the university, according to the relevant rules and regulations.

2. Planning and policy-making for the purpose of promoting and improving the scientific level of the university and its international collaborations.

3. Giving priority to innovation in theoretical field and applied research that is required in the country.

4. Developing, consolidation, and administering approved research projects with a given priority to the applied purposive studies that are based on the national vision plan, development, and comprehensive scientific programs.

5. Controlling and monitoring the university’s research procedures according to the schedule decided in the scheme of the approved research studies.

6. Conducting necessary studies in the field of assessing research activities and evaluating annual research performance of the university to be reported to the university dean.

7. Communicating with domestic and foreign universities in order to collaborate on research issues and exchange of scientific services.

8. Collaborating in delivering scientific, cultural, and social services, holding scientific seminars and conferences, and considering all issues related to research and service contract within the university and with other universities.

9. Collaborating in administering short-term research courses for non-academic institutions.

10. Organizing plans for faculty members to use domestic and international sabbaticals, including research institutes of seminary (Hawzah) and university, according to the approved regulations.

11. Preparing the university’s research program, determining goals, deciding research priorities in the form of medium- and long-term programs, and supporting the establishment of centers for development and entrepreneurship and science and technology parks to be proposed in the university’s specialized research council.

12. Examining and evaluating the university’s activities within the framework of the country’s development programs according to the goals of the national vision plan, development programs, and comprehensive scientific program in higher education sector to be proposed by the board of directors.

13. Identifying and defining scientific-research issues and programs and making plans in order to provide facilities and allocate necessary credits aimed at scientific-research collaboration between the seminary (Hawza) and the university and create appropriate ground in order to achieve religious and humanitarian sciences appropriate to the university’s specialized fields.
